Swimming Hall Etiquette

  • Swimming time is 1.5 hours (unless otherwise agreed).
  • As a rule, school-aged girls use the women’s changing rooms and boys use the men’s changing rooms.
  • Children under 9 years old, non-swimmers, and special groups must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for their presence in the swimming hall.
  • Wearing outdoor shoes in pool and shower areas is prohibited. Pool shoes must be put on and taken off in the shower rooms.
  • All clothes and shoes must be placed in a locker. The swimming hall is not responsible for lost property.
  • In the pool area, only swimwear is allowed! Exceptions are coaches and lifeguards, who must wear clean coaching/lifeguard attire. Swim shorts and swim burkinis are also accepted as swimwear.
  • Wearing dangling jewelry (e.g., necklaces, bracelets) is prohibited in pool areas.
  • Wash thoroughly before entering the pool, including after using the toilet. Wash your hair or wear a swim cap and tie long hair. Remove makeup from your face. This keeps pool water clean and reduces the need for chlorine.
  • Disinfect feet and pool shoes before entering the shower, sauna, and pool.
  • Sauna is used without swimwear. Chlorine vaporizes in heat and forms toxic gases that can cause breathing difficulties for sensitive sauna users. Using a sauna towel is recommended.
  • Follow the rules for the waterslide and diving pool. Only one person may slide at a time. Head-first sliding is prohibited.
  • You may use your own swimming equipment (e.g., running belts, swim toys, fins) only if they are exclusively for swimming hall use.
  • Running, pushing, and bullying are prohibited in all areas.
  • Put all your trash in the bin.
  • If you notice anything that compromises safety in the swimming hall, contact the lifeguards immediately.
  • Lost and found items can be collected from the café’s lost property boxes for about one week.

Maintaining personal hygiene is in everyone’s best interest!

In the swimming hall, you may NOT:

  • Be under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Run, make excessive noise, or behave disruptively
  • Hang on lane ropes
  • Dive without supervision (over 25 m or repeated deep dives of 4 m)
  • Use chewing gum or snuff
  • Use strong fragrances
  • Dye hair
  • Shave body hair
  • Wash laundry
  • Use a camera without lifeguard permission
